The problem

I was playing GTA V in my spare time and had so many cars that organising them into my garages had become a job of its own. The game gives you no overview, so you flick between properties and hold the rest in your head.

The obvious fix would be reading your garage straight out of the game, but that doesn't exist. There's no public API for a player's inventory, so any tool has to be told what you own. The hard part was making that quick enough that people actually bother.

How it grew

It started as a tool for me. Then the friends I played with online started using it and giving me tips and suggestions. The ones that made sense went in, and somewhere along the way it stopped being my tool and turned into a product. Around 80 players have signed up.

What I built

A catalogue of the whole game: 808 vehicles and 232 properties and businesses, searchable and filterable by class, manufacturer, price and where you buy them, so adding what you own means ticking it off instead of typing it in.

Your portfolio at a glance. A dashboard of everything you own and what it's worth. There's a net worth figure summed from catalogue prices, a breakdown by vehicle class, garage capacity across every property, and how much of the game you've collected.

A visual garage. Each property's garage is shown as numbered slots, with your cars placed in them and moved around by drag and drop.

An AI organiser that is not allowed to guess. You ask in plain English, something like organise my favourite cars into my mansions, and a language model turns the request into a clear instruction. That's the only thing the AI does. The plan itself (which car moves where, what gets displaced to make room, whether it all fits) comes from ordinary deterministic code that checks capacity before it proposes a single move. So the AI can misunderstand a request, but it can never produce a plan that doesn't fit in your garages. And any plan can be undone for an hour after it's applied.

Profiles and characters, because players often have more than one. You get one login, several game accounts, and separate characters that each own their own vehicles and properties.

The side nobody sees: an admin dashboard with roles, a support inbox, an activity log of every admin action, and a draft-and-publish flow for the catalogue, so the game data can be kept current without touching code.

The outcome

What I'm proudest of, more than any feature, is the feedback. Friends are still on it every day, and I don't even play the game any more.
